Sending money
You send to the recipient's email address. A completed transfer cannot be reversed, so check before you confirm.
Not available to customers residing in Japan
In Japan we offer the purchase of SGP Points and their use for your own spending and payments. Sending money to other people is outside the scope of our Japan-facing service.
SGP Points are a prepaid payment instrument under Japan's Payment Services Act. They are not intended for remittance, transfer to third parties, or cash-out.
This page describes the service for customers outside Japan. If you are unsure whether it applies to you, please open a support ticket.
How to send
-
Enter the recipient
Type the email address the recipient registered with. Their registered name appears so you can confirm you have the right person.
-
Choose a wallet and amount
Pick the wallet to send from and enter the amount. The fee is displayed.
-
Check, then send
Read the recipient and amount once more. There is no undo.
Only email addresses work
Phone numbers and usernames cannot be used. Ask the recipient which email address they registered with.
| What you see | Meaning | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Receiver not found | No account uses that address | Ask the recipient for their registered address |
| Cannot transfer to your own wallet | You entered your own address | Enter the recipient's address |
| Please follow the limit | Outside the per-transfer range | Use an amount within the range shown |
| Daily transfer limit reached | You have hit the daily cap | Try again tomorrow |
If the recipient has no wallet in that currency
One is created automatically and the funds arrive there. The recipient does not need to prepare anything in advance.
Transfers cannot be reversed
Once sent, no one — including us — can reverse a transfer. If a single mistyped character sends money to a different registered user, a refund is not guaranteed. Returning it is entirely at that person's discretion.
If you are unsure, send a small amount first, confirm it arrived, then send the rest.
Fees and limits
The fee, the per-transfer minimum and maximum, and any daily or monthly caps depend on configuration and are shown as soon as you enter an amount. If you have reached a cap, the screen says so.
Checking your history
Sent transfers appear under "Transfer history". The detail view shows the date, recipient, amount, fee and transaction reference. Quote that reference when contacting support.
Asking someone to pay you
If you want the other person to pay rather than sending money yourself, use a money request or an invoice instead. No funds move until they approve it.
